The Milwaukee BucksMilwaukee Bucks logo 2 started strong last night, but couldn’t finish in the second half and fell to the Spurs in San Antonio 101-95.

The Bucks scored 31 points in the second quarter and shot 58% from the field in the first half, but they turned around and scored just 12 points in the third quarter and shot 38% in the second half.

Still, the Bucks (22-22) had a chance to tie the game in the final half-minute of play but guard Jerryd Bayless missed on a short floater in the lane and the Spurs then clinched the victory by making four free throws to close out.

Khris Middleton led five Bucks in double figures with 21 points.  Bayless had 15 points and five assists.  Tim Duncan led the Spurs (29-17) with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

San Antonio held a big advantage in paint scoring, 52-34.  They also hit 26 of 30 free throws, while the Bucks attempted just 13 free throws and made 9.

The Bucks continue their road trip in Miami against the Heat on Tuesday night.

Jennings is out

Former Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings is out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn Achilles in the 3rd quarter of Detroit’s Saturday night loss to the Bucks at the Bradley Center.

Jennings averaged 15.4 points and 6.6 assists in 41 games this season.
