The Milwaukee Bucks went into the 2006 NBA Draft without a first round pick and that's the way they left it. Milwaukee exercised its only pick, 39th overall in the second round, on North Carolina's 6-6 forward David Noel. Noel averaged 12.9 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Tar Heels last season. Bucks coach Terry Stotts said Noel's athleticism made him a primary target of the Bucks. The Bucks like Noel's physical prowess and his ability to defend, something the Bucks didn't do well last season.
