Milwaukee Bucks logo 10The Milwaukee Bucks held their first pre-draft workout Monday at the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin Training Center in St. Francis.

Among the potential draftees was former Menomonee Falls standout J.P. Tokoto, who went on to play for coach Roy Williams at the University of North Carolina.

“If I came to the Bucks, however it was, I’d be happy,” Tokoto said. “It’s home. It’d be cool to play in front of friends and family. I’ve got my little brother here, who is huge in basketball coming up. I feel like it would be huge. It would be nice.

Bucks General Manager John Hammond sounded optimistic that he will be able to select a quality player at No. 17, but does not feel like he will be able to move up.

We’re sitting here just a couple of days before the draft, and we’re probably looking at 17 a grouping of four players, five max probably. Guys that we’ve kind of zeroed in on, thinking that one of those guys could be there at 17. We’re excited about that player.”

The NBA Draft takes place Thursday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
