Jabari Parker

The Milwaukee Bucks were hoping Jabari Parker’s knee injury in Monday night’s win at Phoenix would be just a knee sprain.  An MRI yesterday in Milwaukee revealed the worse case scenario.

The Bucks 2nd overall pick in this years draft is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).  Parker hurt his knee on a drive to the basket when his knee buckled without contact.

Parker will be missed.  In 25 games, he averaged 12.3 points (2nd among all rookies) and 5.5 rebounds (3rd) in 29.5 minutes a game (3rd) while helping the Bucks to a 13-12 record.  He scored in double figures 17 times, including a career best 23 points at Brooklyn on Nov. 19.

The Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month will undergo surgery to repair the injury and will return next season.

The Bucks return to action tonight in Portland against the Trailblazers.
