The Milwaukee Bucks fell behind early and had nothing left in the tank yesterday, losing game 7 of their opening round playoff series in Atlanta
95-74.
It’s hard to believe it all ended the way it did. With the Bucks up 3-games to 2 with game 6 in Milwaukee on Friday, the Bucks not only failed to ice the series at home, they then followed through with a disappointing loss in game 7 on Sunday.
The Bucks shot it about as poorly as they have all season, hitting just 32% from the field and 21% from beyond the 3-point line. They were also out-rebounded by 20.
The Hawks went up 20 (51-31) in the second quarter and the Bucks could never catch up.
Jamal Crawford led the Hawks with 22 points, while Brandon Jennings had 15 for the Bucks.
As much as the Bucks were underdogs while playing without starting center Andrew Bogut in the whole series, they still were up 3-2 with game 6 on their own home floor.
The hope is the Bucks will learn from this and be better for it next year. One thing is certain, they’ve once again created fan interest with their playoff season. Now the Bucks have to build on that, get back to the playoffs next year and hopefully win a series or two.
