The Milwaukee Bucks officially open Summer League play in Las Vegas tonight when they play the first of their five exhibitions against the Dallas Mavericks.  Twenty-two teams are competing with 58 games scheduled.

The Bucks prepared by putting their players through 5-days of workouts last week.  Among that group is first round draft pick Larry Sanders, who said he’s hoping to bring some energy to the Bucks defense this season.

Bucks assistant coach Jim Boylan will coach the Summer League team.  Boylan said Sanders is still “raw” on offense, but on defense, he can get it done.

Joining Sanders will be second round picks Tiny Gallon and guard Darington Hobson, but Hobson won’t play because of a groin injury.  A total of 13 players are making the trip to Las Vegas.
