Milwaukee Bucks logo 2The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly ready to sign power forward Kenyon Martin to a 10-day contract. cited sources saying the Bucks have committed to add Martin to their roster this week, perhaps as early as today (Thursday), after letting a player go to open up a spot.

Martin teamed together as a player with Bucks coach Jason Kidd, leading New Jersey to back-to-back trips to the NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003.

Martin auditioned for the Bucks last week and is expected to help them try to fill the front court void left by the ongoing absence of center Larry Sanders.

The Bucks are 5-3 without Sanders.  He told reporters this week that there is no timetable for his return to the court.

The Bucks are also without veteran forward Ersan Ilyasova who has missed time with a nasal fracture and now a concussion.

The 37-year-old Martin has averaged 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds in 14 NBA seasons.  He was the top overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft out of Cincinnati.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that there is speculation with regards to either trading or releasing second-year guard Nate Wolters.  The second-year guard out of South Dakota State has played in just 11 games this season, after playing in 58 games as a rookie with the Bucks last season.

The Bucks have not officially announced any roster moves as of 4pm this afternoon.
