What's in your wallet? The Wisconsin Alumni Association hopes it will be money for a trip to the Capital One Bowl.
In any other year an 11-1 record and #7 ranking in the BCS poll would probably have meant a trip to the BCS Rose Bowl. But there's a rule that says only two teams from the same conference are allowed to play in a BCS Bowl. This year that would be the Big Ten's Ohio State #1 and Michigan #3.
That means Bucky is going to Orlando Florida for the second year in a row. Capital One officials were a little concerned because Badgers fans didn't turn out like they hoped a year ago.
But Paula Bonner with the Wisconsin Alumni Association thinks that's because last year a large contingent of Badgers fans shelled out money to travel with the team to Hawaii for the final game of the season. The team stayed closer to home this year so she thinks more travel money for Orlando will be in fans' wallets.
The Alumni Association books the trips every year offering both long and short stay options that include the game and other activities. Bonner says they'll be dancing at Sea World when 2007 arrives on New Year's Eve.
Bonner says the Badgers unexpected good season should help fill the stands New Years Day with cardinal and white.
