The 2013 season has been full of moments to forget for the Milwaukee Brewers.  Thursday’s game falls into that category as the Brewers fell 7-4 in 10-innings to the Houston Astros.

Jim Henderson was given the ball in the 8th inning with the Brewers ahead 4-3 and gave up a solo-homer to Carlos Corporan to tie the game 4-4.  In the 10th, Michael Gonzalez served up the game winner to Carlos Pena, a no doubt, 3-run walk off long ball.

It wasn’t just the bullpen that struggled.  The Brewer bats were 0-for-12 at the plate with runners in scoring position.  Manager Ron Roenicke was not happy with his teams play…

Henderson took over for Yovani Gallardo who last 7-innings allowing 3-runs, none of which were earned, on 5-hits.  Gallardo has now pitch 21-straight innings without allowing an earned run.  John Axford pitched a scoreless 9th inning, his 18th straight outing without allowing a run.  Jonathan Lucroy had two hits, including his 7th home run of the season.  Carlos Gomez and Jean Segura also pitched in with 2-hits each.

Milwaukee wrapped up their 9-game road swing with a 4-5 record.  They open a 6-game homestand tonight at Miller Park as the Atlanta Braves are in town.  Wily Peralta will start tonight for Milwaukee against Atlanta’s Julio Teheran.
