Wisconsin big man Brian Butch was selected All-Big Ten first team, a consensus pick by both the coaches and writers. Butch averaged 12.7 points and 7 rebounds a game for the 26-4 Badgers.
Teammate Michael Flowers was named to the league's all-defensive team for the second straight year and sophomore Jason Bohannon was voted the league's top 6th man.
Junior forward Marcus Landry, the Badgers' leading scorer during Big Ten play, was a second-team all-conference selection by the coaches and a third-team choice by the media.
Sophomore Trevon Hughes earned consensus honorable mention All-Big Ten honors in his first year as UW's starting point guard. On the season, Hughes is second on the team in scoring (11.8 ppg.) and leads the team in steals with 55. That is good for third in the Big Ten.
Junior Joe Krabbenhoft was selected to the Big Ten's All-Defensive team. UW is the only team in the three year history of the All-Defensive Team to have multiple honorees in the same season. Krabbenhoft ranks second on the team in minutes played and fifth in the conference in defensive rebounds. His 6.4 rebounds per game are second only to Butch on the Badgers and he also ranks third on the team in steals.
Indiana's D.J. White is the Big Ten Player of the Year and Purdue Coach Matt Painter is the Coach of the Year.
