Candidates are beginning to emerge in likely recall elections against two Senators from the Green Bay area. State Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette) announced Tuesday that he will run against state Senator Dave Hansen (D-Green Bay), while former Brown County Board member Rich Langan said he plans to run against Senator Rob Cowles (R-Green Bay).

Nygren says the Senator has turned his back on the people of the district with his voting record in recent years, and when he left the state earlier this year with fellow Senate Democrats to block passage of the Governor’s budget repair bill.

Brown County Board Vice Chair Mary Scray also plans to run against Hansen. That would require a primary to be held before the general recall election, which is tentatively scheduled to take place in July.

Former Brown County board member and Ashwaubenon police officer Rich Langan has also announced plans to run against state Senator Rob Cowles (R-Green Bay). Langan says he wants to fight against Governor Scott Walker’s policies.
