After leaving his last start early because of injury, Milwaukee Brewers left hander Chris Capuano worked into the 9th and combined to shut out the Washington Nationals 3-0 at Miller Park.

Capuano allowed 7 hits, walked none and struck out a season high 9 hitters in the win.  Geoff Jenkins provided the Brewers all the offense they would need with a three run homer.

After Washington put its first two hitters on base in the 9th, Francisco Cordero got three outs for his 13th save in 13 chances.

Capuano improved to 5-0, becoming just the third pitcher in team history to win his first five deicisions as a starter.  Bill Wegman started 6-0 in 1994 and Chuck Porter went 5-0 in 1984.

Shortstop J-J Hardy also collected a single in the 5th to extend his hitting streak to 18 straight games.
