Brewers logoChris Carter broke out of an 0-for-23 slump, helping the Milwaukee Brewers knock off the San Diego Padres 3-2 at Miller Park on Sunday.

Carter drove in a pair of runs with a home run and a rbi double.  Jonathan Lucroy also homered for the second straight game and fourth in the last nine games.

The Brewers split the four-game series, despite going just 3-for-40 with runners in scoring position.  They were 1-for-12 on Sunday.

Carter’s home run was his first since May 5 in Cincinnati.

Manager Craig Counsell gave Carter the night off on Saturday, to give him a mental break.  He responded with a 3-hit performance on Sunday.
