A second Old Glory Honor Flight from Central Wisconsin left Outagamie County Regional Airport for Washington D.C. this morning. Waupaca County Veteran’s Service Officer Jon Lidonne is with the group of veterans. “As the fundraising chair, I can tell you it’s definately a challenge,” says Lidonne. “It’s a worthwhile effort, though. It takes us about $70,000 to make one of these flights happen.”

One hundred veterans and their guardians are in Washington D.C. for the day. They’re seeing the World War II memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, changing of the guards at Arlington National Cemetary, the Vietnam and Korean War memorials, and the Lincoln Memorial. A welcome home ceremony is at the airport tonight at 9:30.
