A Milwaukee County supervisor is facing criminal charges over alleged misconduct in office.

The Milwaukee County District attorney has filed two felony charges against Supervisor Johnny Thomas, Jr. The criminal complaint accuses Thomas of accepting a bribe in exchange for scheduling a county committee vote on a financial services contract.

Prosecutors launched an investigation after the county executive’s office raised concerns last fall. Using an aide wearing a wiretap, Thomas was recorded accepting a $500 bribe to call for a vote on a contract that had been held up. The complaint says a vote was put on the schedule the next day.
