So, know the signs and symptoms of Lyme disease, apply tick repellent, and check yourself for ticks, especially during the summer months. Kazmierczack says it takes 24 hours for an infected deer tick to pass the disease on to a human host, so check yourself and other family members after outdoor activities. Let's just say that the family that checks for ticks together, sticks together.
