First it was Wade Phillips, fired by Dallas after a blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers.  Sunday, the Vikings were embarrassed by the Packers, 31-3 and it led to the Vikings firing Brad Childress on Monday.

Childress had just signed a contract extension through 2013, after taking the Vikings to the NFC Championship game last season.

Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier was handed the reigns on an interim basis.  Frazier said he will stick with Brett Favre as the teams starting quarterback.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he’s excited to see his team play so well, but he takes no pleasure in season somebody from the coaching fraternity lose their job.

You shouldn’t feel too bad for Childress.  He did completely lose control of his locker room over the last 6-months and beyond.  Not to mention, he has a guaranteed contract that will pay him millions of dollars and he no longer has to come to work and feel hated by his players and Viking fans in general.
