Here's something a home gardener can truly appreciate, free fertilizer. Officials at the Circus World Museum in Baraboo are relieving themselves of mounds of manure. Dave Saloutos says they're giving away the elephant excrement in exchange for a nonspecific donation to the museum. Saloutos says some locals have already picked up a pile of dumbo droppings, but there's still an abundant supply of doo-doo available for the asking. "You can take as little or as much as you need. It's supposed to be extremely rich in nutrients and really good for the garden. … Good time to put it on right now. And all we ask is a little donation and we're not even going to tell people what to leave, it's just up to them."

Whatever money is donated for the pachyderm poop will supplement the museum's tight operating budget. Saloutos reminds anyone going to scare up some scat, don't forget to bring a bucket! "I would bring some kind of shovel along and probably a five-gallon buck."

Saloutos says you can pick up your deposit of dung for two weeks, Monday through Friday, starting today (October 30th).
