Clean up continues today in the area of the state socked by the most snow this weekend. Nearly two feet landed in Osceola in northwest Wisconsin.  Chris Ouellette, the region’s DOT communication manager, says the wind along with massive snow made plowing efforts difficult.

She says with the freezing temperatures today salt does not work on the roads very well. Ouellette is advising people in the region to stay off the roads unless they have to as fewer cars will help clean up crews work more effectively. Plowing so far was just enough to get traffic lanes open and she emphasizes the work continues.

For those who have to drive she advises caution as roads that appear to be clear may still be very icy.
