Wisconsin Badger running back Corey Clement took his first full hits at practice for the first time since his sports hernia surgery three weeks ago.

Clement said he felt good after Tuesday’s practice and he’s made a lot of progress since last week when he got back on his feet.

The Wisconsin junior was supposed to be the big-yardage successor to Melvin Gordon, but he hasn’t played since September fifth when he aggravated a groin injury in the season opener against Alabama.

Clement was sent to Germany in late September where he underwent surgery.

The Badger tailback did dress for last Saturday’s win over Purdue, but he didn’t play.  Clement said he isn’t certain if he will be ready to play this Saturday, when the Badgers play at Illinois.  He does plan to  travel with the team to Champaign.
