Several organizations hoping to reform healthcare in Wisconsin are joining forces. Over 30 groups representing workers, the retired, and the disabled have formed a new coalition to make the push for universal health care reform in Wisconsin. Robert Kraig, with the Wisconsin Health Care Reform Campaign, says the groups believe there is an opportunity in the current legislature to get serious reforms passed this year. The new Democratic majority in the State Senate is among the main changes members believe indicates that ability.

Lawmakers are already looking at several reform proposals. Kraig says the coalition wants to get them to take action as soon as possible. There are three main reform proposals being considered in the State Senate right now, but Kraig says the coalition isn't supporting any one plan in particular.
