The Rock County Sheriff's Department is investigating an home invasion robbery reported by two residents around 11:00 AM Thursday night. Lt. Jude Maurer says two men got into the house by claiming they were having car trouble and needed to use a phone. One of them was armed with a small caliber handgun.

Once inside, the intruders overpowered the middle aged homeowners and bound them with duct tape. After taking items from the house they fled. Maurer says it took about 45 minutes for one of the victims to get free and call 911. Maurer says it appears the robbers picked out the victims ahead of time, and he didn't think other residents of the rural area in the Town of Lima have any cause for concern. Maurer declined to reveal what was taken in the robbery.
