Colin Cole The Green Bay Packers need help on the defensive line, but they decided not to shell out big money for a couple of defensive players.  The Packers allowed one of their own, DT Colin Cole (pictured) to get away, not willing to pay him the $21.4 million that Seattle has agreed to pay him over 5-years, with $6-million reportedly guaranteed.

The Packers were also said to be interested in Dallas free agent defensive end Chris Canty, but he instead signed a 6-year, $42-million deal with the New York Giants.

It was an easy decision for Cole to make, to take the money in Seattle.  The Packers weren't even in the same ballpark, not sharing the same thought's as Seattle on Cole's value.

In four-plus seasons with the Packers, Cole started eight games.  He had 126 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks and six passes knocked down.
