Horizon League LogoIn men’s Horizon League College basketball on Thursday night, the Milwaukee Panthers fell at league-leading Valparaiso, 68-56.  The Crusaders went on a 14-0 run to end the first half, improving their record to a perfect 4-0 in league play.

Jordan Johnson had 19 points and six assists for the Panthers, who dropped to 3-2 in league play and 12-6 overall.

In Chicago, the Green Bay Phoenix men held off the Flames 78-76, as Turner Botz hit a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left and then made a steal to close out the victory.  The Phoenix improved to 4-1 in Horizon League play and 11-6 overall.

In women’s play, the Green Bay Phoenix extended their winning streak to eleven games with an 81-42 rout of Valparaiso.  All ten Phoenix players scored, led by Mehryn Kraker with 15 points.  Each Green Bay player had at least one assist.  The Phoenix are now 14-2 on the season and 4-0 in Horizon League play.

In Milwaukee, the Panther women edged Illinois-Chicago 54-53 on a jumper by Sierra Ford-Washington with seven seconds left.  She scored 17 points as Milwaukee improved to 2-2 in the Horizon League and 8-7 overall.
