The Colorado Rockies scored 3-runs in the 7th inning last night, breaking a 4-4 tie and going on to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-4 at Miller Park.
The Rockies got to Brewers starter Marco Estrada for 4-runs and 9-hits in the first five innings. Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez each clubbed home runs, giving manager Walt Weiss his first win as a major league manager.

Brandon Kintzler struck out the side in the sixth, then came trouble for the Brewers. Michael Gonzalez took his turn on the mound, walking the leadoff man, giving up a bunt single and then watching as the Brewers couldn’t get an out when Carlos Gonzalez bat exploded, sending the barrel into the air and Alex Gonzalez for cover.
On came Burke Badenhop who was greeted with a sacrifice fly to center to give the Rockies the lead. Michael Cuddyer’s swinging bunt scored a run and Todd Helton’s single to center scored the 3rd run of the inning.
Meanwhile, after the Brewers scored their 4-runs, they managed just 4 hits the rest of the way against 5 Colorado relievers. Ryan Braun homered in the loss for the Brewers.
Estrada’s 5-inning effort came a day after Yovani Gallardo gave up 10-hits and 2 home runs in 5-innings in the opener. This time, the bullpen couldn’t hold the game for the Brewers.
The final game of the series is at Miller Park tonight.
