A Republican Congressman from Wisconsin is offering his endorsement to Florida Senator Marco Rubio in the presidential race.
U.S. Rep. Reid Ribble (R-WI) has been a vocal critic of GOP frontrunner Donald Trump in the past, saying he would not support the real estate developer if he is the party’s eventual nominee in November. Ribble said Wednesday that many people have asked who he does plan to back in the race, so he decided to make it clear he thinks Rubio has the best chance of winning next November. “I believe he has the characteristics, the rectitude, the foreign policy bonafides that give the Republican Party the best opportunity to win in the fall,” Ribble said in an interview with affiliate station WHBY.

Ribble also renewed his concerns about Trump being the standard bearer for the party in the general election, pointing to the controversy earlier this week surrounding his hesitancy to denounce support from former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke. Trump initially said he would have review Duke’s positions, before later publicaly disavowing his endorsement. “I have to ask myself ‘how large of a hole in your heart do you have to have, that you could not instantly denounce the KKK…that you have to think about it and act as if you don’t even know who they are?'”
Wisconsin voters will weigh in on who they think the GOP nominee should be on April 5, during the state’s presidential preference primary.
