Republican congressman Paul Ryan of Janesville calls the Mark Foley email-page scandal a “stomach turner”.
Congressman Ryan is very clear on what he thinks about Mark Foley's email conversations with House pages. He says it's “disgusting, vile, immoral and probably criminal”.
Ryan's glad to see the Ethics committee looking into the matter as well as the FBI . He also favors a third party investigation into why someone didn't do something about Mark Foley earlier. He wants to make sure something like this never happens again.
But at the same time, Ryan says, with the November election upon us, he knows the Foley scandal will be a big issue but he says we need to start talking more about the issues people care about. Such as health care, energy independence and the war on terror.
Ryan believes that's what the voters in his district, southeastern Wisconsin, want to talk about.
