At the Republican National Convention, Wisconsin delegation member Dean Knudson is only about a half hour drive away from his home in Hudson where he serves as mayor. Having represented in the New York gathering he's enjoying the proximity of this event. Knudson has even kept up on his mayoral duties by attending a city meeting Tuesday night.
The mayor seized an opportunity to give his colleagues in the delegation a glimpse of his city noting it's unlikely the Convention will be this close to Hudson any time soon. He spearheaded a river boat cruise down the St Croix River where the Republicans will then visit his downtown. It's a win-win for his city as the trip will also bring tourism dollars.
Knudson also says the people of his border town are excited about the VP choice Sarah Palin because she brings small town values to the ticket.
