A major heroin pipeline into the Sauk City area has been plugged. Authorities recently arrested 7 people on various drug charges, including delivering heroin. Sauk Prairie police chief Jerry Strunz says the undercover investigation focused on 27-year-old Matthew Olday and 26-year-old Jillian O’Donnell, who rented a home in Sauk City. Strunz says the pair were making daily trips to Madison and returning with heroin.
“We feel that this will make a significant impact on heroin that’s available immediately in the Sauk Prairie area,” he said. “Unfortunately . . . there’s such a drive for people to use heroin, and the addiction is so strong that we’re going to continue work this investigation, because they’re going to be seeking other sources.”
In this recent bust neighbors tipped off police, who then began an undercover operation four months ago.
