Marshfield Police are requesting charges against a bus driver who allegedly threatened elementary school passengers with a knife.

Police Chief Joe Stroik says they want 66-year-old Reinhold Werth charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a weapon on school property. According to the investigation turned over to the Wood County District Attorney for possible prosecution, 4 elementary school children have come forward saying Werth swore at them and then pulled out a jackknife, exposed the blade and said, "if you don't keep quiet, I'll slit your throat." The alleged incident occurred November 16th. Marshfield superintendent Bruce King says the children approached school officials on December 7th.

Marshfield contracts with a private firm, Marshfield Bus Service, for their transportation needs. That company is also contracted to perform a criminal background check on drivers. There are no entries for a Reinhold Werth in the state's on-line court records.
