Madison police had to taser a pit bull Thursday night. According to the police report: The dog got loose in an area around Piccadilly Drive. It attacked a puppy. The owners of the animals were bitten when they tried to separate the dogs. The pit bull had the puppy in his mouth at one point.

Officers used a taser when they determined the pit bull would not allow them to approach. Animal control has taken custody of the dog, which has a history of aggressive behavior. The puppy was killed and the owner of pit bull could face charges.
