Longtime Marquette Athletic Director Bill Cords announced his retirement on Tuesday. During his 20 years on the job, Cords says he's most proud of getting Marquette into the Big East Conference. Men's basketball coach Tom Crean says Cords never wanted to take credit for the success of the program, but he's a big reason why Marquette has risen to the status they are at. His retirement will be effective, December 31st.
