Anybody questioning the Green Bay Packers move of keeping rookie kicker Mason Crosby over Dave Rayner is probably pretty quiet today. Crosby booted three field goals yesterday to help the Packers beat the Philadelphia Eagles 16-13 in the season opener at Lambeau Field.
Crosby hit from 53 yards out to start and finished with a 42-yard game winner to win it for the Packers.
By hitting the 42 yarder, Crosby became the first rookie to win a game with a field goal on opening day since Pittsburgh's Matt Bahr beat new England with a 37-yard field goal with 9 seconds left in overtime on Sept. 3, 1979.
