On the same day that gas prices set a record high in Wisconsin, there is hope that they could be coming back down soon. Pam Moen of AAA Wisconsin said the state set a record Thursday, with the average gas price rising above the $4.11 mark which was set in July of 2008. “At the same time, we’ve seen crude oil drop dramatically,” said Moen. In fact oil prices dropped by $15.00 a barrel Thursday, which could mean relief at the pump in the coming days. “After weeks and weeks of climbing gas prices, we hopefully have some relief in sight in the very near future,” Moen said, adding that prices could drop by more than a quarter in the coming weeks. Prices at some locations in Wisconsin are already back down below $4.00.
