Cubans in Madison praise the President for allowing them to travel – and send money – back home. Peter Munoz of Centro Hispano says Cubans who call Madison home still have a strong allegiance to family members they left behind on the communist island, and having the ability to send them money is a big deal.

"The standard of living is very low in Cuba, so if they're able to receive financial help from their families here in the United States, even if it's a small amount, it makes a big impact," says Munoz. "I think everybody is pretty much in favor of this opportunity to send resources home, and also to visit Cuba." Munoz sees few risks from the relaxed standards announced by President Barack Obama . "I don't think Cuba presents any kind of threat to the United States," he says.
