The Davidson College Board of Trustees decided this morning to foot the bill for any student at the school who wanted to attend the "Sweet 16" game against Wisconsin on Friday night.   About 20% of the schools population or just under 300 kids took them up on the offer.

The college will pay for the students bus ride, two nights in a hotel and game ticktes at a cost of about $600 per student.  Davidson is located in North Carolnia and is about 650 miles from Detroit so the bus ride will be about 11 hours.

Wlidcat head coach Bob McKillop says that he doesn't think anything like this has ever happend in college sports.  He also urged any teachers at his school to give the fans heading to Detroit an "excused absence."

The Badgers and Davidson will tip off at 6:10pm on Friday night inside of Ford Field.
