The Milwaukee Brewers clubbed three solo home runs on Sunday and beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 in 14-innings.
Mark Reynolds homered in the 8th, Ryan Braun tied the game 2-2 with a 1-out solo homer in the 9th and Khris Davis won it with a solo shot in the 14th inning, giving the Brewers 3 out of 4 in the series.
It’s the second straight game that Pirates closer Jason Grilli served up a home run in the 9th inning. Braun also took Grilli deep in the 9th in Saturday, a 2-run shot to help the Brewers come from behind to win.
At 14-5, the Brewers continue to hold on to the best record in the major leagues. Their 9-1 road record is the best start in the majors since Atlanta opened 10-0 back in 1994.
Teams always want to win, but Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said when you battle for 14-innings, you definitely want to win.

The game took an extra twist in the third inning when, with the game still scoreless, Carlos Gomez hit a drive to deep center that bounced off the wall. Gomez had to hustle it for a triple but Pirates starter Gerrit Cole had taken exception, thinking Gomez was in his home run trot.

Gomez shouted back at Cole and was eventually tackled by Pirates reserve outfielder Travis Snider. Brewers reserve Martin Maldonado punched Snider in the face but wasn’t ejected. Gomez, Snider and Brewers bench coach Jerry Narron got the hook.

Francisco Rodriguez closed the door in the 14th for his 7th save of the season and 311th of his career. Rodriguez moved into a tie with Tom Henke for 19th on the all-time saves list.
Wily Peralta is scheduled to start for the Brewers tonight when they open a 3-game series with the San Diego Padres at Miller Park.
