As Congress continues consideration of an auto industry bailout, they're paying close attention in showrooms across the Badger State. Gary Williams is President of the Wisconsin Auto and Truck Dealers Association . “We are not asking for any money, but we cannot . . .see dealers survive if the manufacturers do not survive,” says Williams.

Williams stresses the auto industry isn't responsible for the economic mess, which he blames on the mortgage-lending debacle. “Everything that is impacting the auto business today, I don't care what manufacturer, was not caused by the auto industry,” he says. “Everything that's going on today, that's causing this economic problem, was all in the mortgage lending arena. We had nothing to do with that, we're just getting caught up in it something terrible.”
