Clark County Sheriff Louis Rosandich says investigators aren't ruling out anything as they investigate the death of a rural Granton woman. 45-year-old Mary Frick suffered a single gunshot wound to the head and was already dead when authorities arrived at her Town of Lynn home Tuesday morning. A male individual called 9-1-1 to report a shooting.
At a press conference Thursday, Rosandich said Frick died one of three ways: homicide, suicide or accidental shooting. She lived on Hill Road, southeast of Lynn. The male individual was described as an "acquaintance" who had been living at the residence for a number of weeks. The man, who Rosandich said is not considered a suspect at this time, was questioned Tuesday morning.
A forensic autopsy has been complete, but investigators are still waiting for information before they make a final determination on the cause of death.
While Rosandich encouraged the public to offer factual information that may aid the investigation, he said detectives had been a bit "bogged down" by rumors. He also said the public may have unreal expectations about how quickly investigations move, since evidence still needs to be processed by a state crime lab.
Rosandich reiterated authorities don't believe the public is at risk.
