New Jersey has joined Wisconsin and twelve other states in ending capital punishment. Sachin Chheda is Executive Director of the Wisconsin Coalition Against the Death Penalty . "This is really a watershed moment, because New Jersey is the first state in many decades to actually eliminate use of the death penalty," Chheda notes, adding that he expects several other states to shortly follow suit. While it's unlikely that lawmakers in southern states like Missouri, Texas and Florida will overturn the death penalty anytime soon, Chheda predicts that we could see the death penalty eliminated in another twenty five or thirty years.
