The Green Bay Packers defense has played increasingly worse each and every week.  Their fading performance was capped off by a 38-10 loss to the New York Jets at Lambeau Field.

New York put up 340 yards and 31 points on the Packers in the first half as the Green Bay defense hit rock bottom.  The Jets scored on all five of their first half possessions, the last four of which were touchdowns.

Inexperience has been a problem on offense and it's a valid reason for the struggles on that side of the ball.  But on defense, the Packers have mainly veteran players. Yet the Jets, with their 27th ranked NFL offense, had their way with the Packers.

The Packers had a difficult time pressuring Jets quarterback Chad Pennington and it led to their 3rd straight defeat.  The Packers fell to 4-8 with the loss and are now just 1-5 at Lambeau Field this season.  That's the worst home record of any team in the NFL this season.

The Packers only touchdown came on a Brett Favre to Donald Driver 20-yard pass in the third quarter.  That made the score 31-10, but the Jets answered with a touchdown of their own to re-establish control.

Favre had another one of his inaccurate days, hitting on just 24 of 47 passes with one touchdown and two interceptions.

The Packers will travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers this Sunday.  San Francisco, which lost yesterday to New Orleans, is 5-7 on the season.
