A decision has been put off on who will represent the Weston prayer death parents as they appeal their reckless homicide convictions. Judge Vincent Howard was set to decide today whether Dale and Leilani Neumann are indigent, who should represent them during appeals and how those attorneys would be paid.

But he postponed his ruling because Leilani’s trial attorney was busy defending a criminal case in another county.

At issue is whether the Neumanns can pay for their own attorney. If they can’t, county taxpayers would foot the cost and the judge could require the Neumanns to pay back their expenses at a reduced rate of 70-dollars an hour.
