A popular Wisconsin Dells attraction will reopen Friday. The Tommy Bartlett Show planned to reopen its stage and sky portions today, but now that's getting postponed until tomorrow. Tom Diehl, president and general manager of Tommy Bartlett Shows, says the revised show is part of an effort to keep businesses going, on the shores of what used to be Lake Delton. "The physical loss here . . . is the five homes that washed down the river," says Diehl. "The economic loss is the rest of the summer."
Diehl says the Bartlett show is hoping to work out a program that will draw crowds, and encourage vacationers to book rooms at the now waterless resorts on Lake Delton, in exchange for half price admissions to fifteen of the Dells most popular attractions. "I'm definately positive, one hundred percent positive, that there will be water here next year," Diehl says, adding that he hopes preliminary analysis and engineering on how to restore Lake Delton will be completed in the next couple of weeks.
