A new initiative targets felons with guns. Felons who remain under the active supervision of the state Department of Corrections are not allowed to own, or even carry guns, not even for hunting. Department of Natural Resources Secretary Matt Frank teamed up the Secretary of Corrections, Rick Raemisch. Hunting licenses issued to supervised felons led to 19 arrests. Those individuals have now been referred to local district attorneys, and may serve additional time behind bars for the violations. Frank says the cooperative program will be ongoing.
