The Department of Revenue says the consolidation of several offices statewide will not hurt services to taxpayers. DOR plans to close 20 field offices across the state over the next three years, as leases on the locations expire.

Revenue spokeswoman Jessica Iverson says the public will still be able to access many of the services those local offices offered, such as audits and tax preparation assistance. She says the move will save money for the state and allow offices to better use technology.

The regional offices will be located in Appleton, Green Bay, Eau Claire, Madison, Milwaukee, Wausau, and Chicago.
