Like all Packer fans, our governor is feeling the pain from Sunday's loss in Green Bay.

Governor Jim Doyle is disappointed that the Packers won't be playing in the Superbowl because they missed a lot of opportunities that were just handed to them during the playoff game with New York, but despite the loss , Doyle says Green Bay had a great season and that's nothing to sneeze at.

"You know they just went 14-4 so, I mean, I'm as disappointed as anybody and the Giants certainly played really well, but also let us off the hook a lot but, so it's too bad."

Doyle had recently acknowledged Quarterback Brett Favre 's ( pronounce ) "tremendous work ethic" which "represent the true spirit of Wisconsin," and had said he's looking forward to another season with Favre.

Even after Sunday's failed attempt to earn a spot at the Superbowl, Doyle says he's not ready to give up on Favre just yet.

"You know you always have to step back and look at what happened here; it was a pretty amazing season and Brett Favre was a big reason for it."

Doyle had worn his lucky sweatshirt during the playoff game against the Giants, but it wasn't so lucky Sunday night and he's stumped trying to figure out what went wrong.

"You know I'm trying to think back at all the things that, you know," he laughs, "I could have done differently. But like I say, it's time to move on to next year."

The governor has already put that game behind him and is already looking forward to the next season.
