The UW Board of Regents is offering thanks to Governor Doyle. The Board on Thursday approved a resolution honoring Doyle’s hard work and commitment to higher education during his last eight years in office.

The Governor says he’s proud of many accomplishments during that time, such as expanding access to a UW education. He says the UW is educating more students than ever, despite facing one of the worst recessions since the depression.

Doyle also reflected on the $2 billion in new construction that’s taken place on UW campuses, saying they’ve really re-built many areas during his time as governor.

Doyle says the UW System continues to thrive, despite tough economic conditions. He urged Regents to keep a UW education affordable and easy to access, and to also keep financial aid readily available to students.
