An animal hoarding case has been uncovered in Fond du Lac . Police Major Kevin Lemke says a neighbor who was concerned about the well being of cats and dogs living in a Fond du Lac home. "The smell and conditions of the house were deplorable," said Lemke.
Police and Humane Society officials entered the home Wednesday and found dead cats, a dead dog and dozens of cats and a few dogs living in rotten conditions. "we had to euthanize eleven cats," said Humane Society Shelter Manager Lucy Mathers. Twenty-four cats and four dogs were saved. The woman keeping the animals is being held in the Washington County jail for violating probation on an earlier animal treatment conviction. ( KFIZ's Bob Nelson contributed this story )
