The driver of a septic truck is dead, after their vehicle was hit by a Union Pacific Railroad train this morning.
Police say the crash occurred at about 10:58 a.m. on Monday at a railroad crossing in Hammond Township. The westbound train struck the vehicle, which was traveling south on 150th Street at the time of the crash.
The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released. There were no other injuries reported.
The crash is under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department. The railroad crossing remains closed.
