Donald Drivers role has certainly changed at wide receiver with the Green

Bay Packers, but he’s still a big part of the Packers offense and their chase for a spot in the post-season playoffs.

Driver and the Packers will face the New England Patriots in Foxboro tonight.  He’s gone through some injury problems this season and will likely see his string of 6-straight 1,000 yard receiving seasons come to an end.  But Driver still has a chance to set one of the Packers greatest all-time franchise records.

Driver (9,499 yds) trails James Lofton (9,656 yds) by 157 yards for the franchise’s all-time receiving yardage lead.  Driver would have to have a big game to set the record tonight (with Lofton in the Westwood One broadcast booth), but there’s a good chance he’ll set the franchise mark before the end of the season.

Driver has had to flourish in a new role this season but he’s alright with that.  Driver knows he’s still a valuable member of this receiving corp and he’s excited to help them in their pursuit of a spot in the postseason.
